Christine McCarthy M.S, OTR/L

Christine McCarthy is the co-owner of Two River Pediatric Therapy, and director of Occupational Therapy. She holds a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelors degree in Health Science, which she obtained at the New York Institute of Technology. Christine has been practicing Occupational Therapy for 16 years exclusively in pediatrics. She began her career as a therapist in the NYC Department of Education. She proceeded to expand her learning at Blythedale Children’s Hospital where she treated many children with traumatic brain injuries, burns, spinal cord injury, stroke rehab, and other neuro-motor diagnoses related to premature birth or injury. She has since provided therapy in early intervention, hospitals, private clinics including Cranial Technologies, and most recently privately in clients’ home. Christine has extensive training in treating infants with motor delays and torticollis. She is trained in Total Motion Release for TOTS and has specialized training in sensory integration, NDT, vision assessment and treatment, and handwriting techniques. Christine is passionate about enabling families through education and support. She believes it is important that families have and utilize the tools they need to help their child succeed. Christine resides in Little Silver, NJ with her husband and her two sons.

Jessica Sweeney  M.S, CCC-SLP, COM Track

Jessica Sweeney is the owner and director of It’s Time To Talk, LLC and co-owner of Two River Pediatric Therapy. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology and received her Masters Degree from The College of St. Rose in Communication Disorders. Jessica primarily works with the pediatric population but also provides services to adults. She started her career in Massachusetts at Berkshire Medical Center (2001) and in Utica NY at St Elizabeth Hospital where she worked mainly with the adult population on an acute care and out patient basis. She then moved to NJ and worked for over 10 years at Children’s Specialized Hospital where she was exposed to cutting edge treatment techniques, evaluation and treatment tools and learned how to use them with a wide variety of disorders. Her main position was on the Traumatic Brain Injury team where she provided speech, language and swallowing therapy to patients 3-21 years old. She also covered feeding and swallowing disorders in the infant/toddler population and provided out patient speech, language and swallowing treatment. Jessica changed from the hospital to the Hoboken School District where she worked with with pre-school, elementary, middle and high school aged children with a variety of speech and language disorders. Here she also moonlighted for Early Intervention with the birth to three year old population in the afternoons and on weekends. She also opened It’s Time to Talk, LLC where she provided home care speech, language, swallowing and cognitive rehabilitation services for children 0-21 years old in their homes. When she moved to Middletown, NJ, she continued her work with children in the Middletown Public Schools as a contract employee and brought It’s Time to Talk, LLC with her. She has been in private practice for over 11 years focusing on preschool aged child and early elementary aged children. Jessica has clinical experience in providing speech, language, swallowing and feeding therapy to children with a variety of therapeutic needs, including: language/learning disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, pragmatic language disorder, stuttering/cluttering, ADHD, Verbal Apraxia, Down-Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, most recently children and adults with Myofunctional Disorders, and more. Jessica is training to be a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) and is excited for her on-site visit in March of 2020 to finalize certification. She is level 1 trained in PROMPT, Beckman, Talk Tools, Myofunctional Therapy, and others. She is fully certified by the American Speech- Language Hearing Association, licensed in the state of New Jersey as a speech language pathologist and the New Jersey Department of Education.
